Well, I got an early jump! I SO BADLY want to see this legislation succeed! I know how much NY women need midwives and need them to be able to practice indepently. I am so thankful for two wonderful births with my midwife and for the exceptional pre-natal and post-natal care she provided to me and my daughters. I want all women to have the same choice for their pregnancy and birth. I sent this message to 37 of my friends across NY State tonight. I would love to see others top that number! PASS THE MMA!!!
I emailed the Dean of the College of Nursing at NYU (my alma mater), as well as the Midwifery education coordinator, CNM faculty and undergrad maternity instructor asking them to publicly join the ACNM and support the MMA. Have others reached out to their nursing or midwifery education contacts for support?
