In the past two days the MMA has been voted out of both the Assembly and Senate Higher Education Committees.
Congratulations!
This is a HUGE accomplishment towards our goal of passing this important legislation that will give New York State women and families access to the safe, excellent midwifery care we need.
The journey is not over. We are now waiting for the legislation to get called to the Senate and Assembly floors to get voted on by both full chambers.
Right now it is time to relax, rejuvenate and celebrate the outcomes of our hard work and our swift and effective actions. The consumer push was an integral part of this legislation's movement and it was nothing short of a miracle.
